There's a lot of free technology available to use in (and out of) the classroom to enhance learning. Here are some ideas.
There are a number of free websites which allow you to make quizzes (especially for use with mobile devices and IWBs). Kahoot is very popular with my students, but there are others.
Some require no preparation, for others you need to type in questions. But if you have an interactive whiteboard in your classroom, then this is the place for you.
There are lots of ways to record students nowadays, but Voki.com is a website which works well for students who don't like being filmed, and also has a nice text-to-speech functionality if they want to compare their pronunciation.
There are lots of websites with vocabulary or spelling games. Here are some of my favourites.
Wordle is an utterly brilliant way of making word clouds. This one is from 10 present perfect sentences. Read more to see ideas of how to use these.
Dvolver is a website where students write short dialogues and choose simple animations to create their own short cartoon films. Here are some ideas to go with it.
Class Dojo is a great looking behaviour management tool which is incredibly simple to use. If you think your students might be too old for it, it also works as a cute way to score teams.
